Trick or Treat!

We had the whole day at our bidding to wait and wait for trick or treating! yes it was a bit of torture waiting with 7 anxious kiddos.
Grandpa helped by starting a GIANT bonfire in the front yard to burn all the branches and leaves that have been falling all around. the kids loved bringing over sticks to throw in. And of course we roasted a mallow or two just for good measure.
We got everyone fed and ready so we could go see aunt krissy in Lethbridge but 2 min into the drive she texted and said she would come to us... so back to magrath with time to spare, or waste. The kids went and watched a halloween movie at grandma Harrisons while Little buddy and grandpa Davies napped at the Davies house. I made mummy dogs and french fries for the kids to eat before all the candy came. They finished dinner then we bundles them up under their costumes, because we are in Canada now, then headed our on the town. We were definitely the first ones starting out but that is alright because we had a ton of kids to make it worth it to come to the door. Izaac, Cora and Cloe were running way ahead so Grandma Davies went with that group and we stayed with the stragglers. We met up with Aubrey and her boys. Preston loved going up to the door, often by himself, and pounding on it. Then he would confidently say "Trick or Treat" and "Thank You" when he received his candy. He was a champ. Ava got tired half way through and Adrien was her personal piggybacker who shuttled her door to door. We were out for about 2h and the kids had bags full to the top! We circled back around to Grandma Davies house and met up with the other kiddos. We left the babies with Grandparents and took the older ones to a Spook Alley on main street. I went down with Izaac, Cloe, and CoraLynn with them each clinging on for dear life. they yelled down to the ghouls in the basement that young kids were coming and not to grab them but they were definitely spooky! It was in the basement, used to be Morgue of the old hospital that has been a house for years. They had a bunch of scary people everywhere that would twitch and jump out and all that good stuff. It was definitely spooky! Alyssa, Riley, Aubrey, and Jalen went after us and got the full scary adult effect. Poor Riley was too tall in places and bumped his head a few times while running from creepy things. We hit up one more culdesac before calling it a night. We had so much fun and the weather held out amazingly! We weren't cold at all with just jackets on. It was definitely a blessing as it has been so cold lately. I took all the traditional candy pictures and they ate for a bit before I hauled them into the bathroom to scrub what we could off their teeth and get them settled for bed. It was rather difficult considering how hyper they all were but once they were each in their own beds they were pretty quiet, except for Ava who took a full 1/2h to settle enough and finally give in to sleep.
While trick or treating I was asked to sub for Primary so After watching a movie with Mom I read through my lesson and am now excitedly getting into bed. I am grateful for the extra hour of sleep we get as a special gift from Mr Daylight Savings. I will probably need it with all these candy hangovers that are sure to be happening come tomorrow morning. I wonder how much Candy will be eaten for breakfast, I probably should have hidden them or something but then were is the fun in that, plus I am too lazy at the moment.
So Good night to my dearest lover lumps, namely, You.
Happy Halloween!!!!
